Friday, September 21, 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel
By the 5th grade a student has seen, heard, or has been made aware of sex. They have seen a show and heard other kids at school, a sibling, or news. The bottom line is someone is going to teach about love, sex, and relationships, but the question is who will that be and who will make that decision?
Teaching kids about the facts of life is so much more than just “the birds and the bees.” It is surely one of the most awkward parts of parenting especially in today’s permissive society. That is why we are holding an event that is a fun, non-threatening way to connect with your children while teaching them godly principles of sexuality with the Passport2Purity program.
Passport2Purity is a directed, engaging and interactive resource designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen and to help parents discuss love, sex, and relationships with their preteen children.
We will be walking you through the first few sessions of the resource together on Friday night to set you up for a win on Saturday or another day of your choosing to talk about the changing of their bodies and sex.
In our sessions we will talk about the traps and distractions teens will run into in their relationships and what they need to guide them through those distractions. You will then at the time of your choosing (suggested the next day) cover how the body is changing and boundaries with others they will need to set. You will also set up your expectations for dating.
Our desire is to help get you started and give you the resources to succeed in the conversations.
